Auditions for the September/October presentation of the classic comedy
Arsenic and Old Lace will be held at Lakeland Theatre Company on
Sunday and Monday, July 20 and 21. Sunday auditions will begin at 2:00 PM,
and Monday’s auditions will start at 7:00 PM. Director Bill O’Neill will
cast all roles at these auditions. Arsenic and Old Lace opens on
September 26th and will run through October 11. Rehearsals will begin on or
about July 27th.
All roles are available. There are roles for men and women. There are
several smaller parts available and first time and new actors and actresses
are encouraged to audition. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the
script.
The play is the hilarious story of two charming old sisters who populate
their cellar with the remains of socially acceptable boarders. With a
brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and another brother who defies
description, the show is always a true comedy hit. Please note that we are
also looking for stage managers, backstage helpers, and technical workers.
Training is available!
Auditions will consist of reading from the script. Scripts are available
for checkout from Lakeland now (deposit required), and persons not able to
make the Sunday or Monday audition dates must call prior to auditions to
schedule an alternate date.
